First up, I'd like to introduce you to my good friend AMY BARICKMAN.
Many years ago I stumbled on The Vintage Workshop . As I browsed through Amy's collection of images, I realized she and I were soul sisters! Since that time, I have come to know Amy as a passionate artist and entrepreneur. Someone who truly lives a creative life!
Right now Amy is working with BurdaStyle, SINGER and Coats&Clark to bring you the

The Competition
Amy Barickman’s Vintage-Inspired, Modern Style Design Challenge joins a rich history of handmade with today’s creative renaissance. Partnering with SINGER®, Coats & Clark, and Burdastyle, Amy invites sewing enthusiasts to show off their skills for a shot at winning up to thousands of dollars in prizes.
Participants will design a wearable fashion project based on a pattern from Indygo Junction , Amy Barickman’s Vintage Notions book, or one of four free e-patterns available at IndygoJunction.com. Winners will be evaluated on originality, craftsmanship and overall appeal by a judging panel as well as the Burdastyle online community.
Three winners will be awarded. Prizes include SINGER sewing machines, Coats & Clark thread packs, Indygo Junction sewing patterns and books, and more. The winning design will be published as an Indygo Junction pattern.

Yay! I've been waiting for this ever since you announced it was coming. I worked from home today so I got to fit in a little sewing along the way. I pieced together my first scrappy binding and I'm just about to press it and prepare for sewing it to my first mini-quilt/wall hanging. I'm an old sewer but a new quilter. Glad to be along for the ride!

Congrats on joining the "World of Blog"! You have no idea what a fabric junkie I am. I have a double closet full, a single closet full, and a huge cabinet full. But no matter how much I have, it seems that I never have esactly what I want or need. So it's off to the fabric store I go! HAHA!

saw your post on facebook and had to investigate. Would love to win the fabric cause the one who has the most fabric wins right? lol I have worked on taxes today and need to get creative cause The last people who did them created a realmess and I had trouble pulling info together. The fabric is fabulous! When I first got into mixed media, I did some sewing themed pieces for a book that was being published. I started my artistic life as a textile artist. No idea what I'd make with these-I have to live with fabrics for awhile before I decide, but these are lovely!
